The Australian Davis cup team played an exhibition match to-day in dull drizzly weather, Paterson and Wertheim heating Anderson and Mood o—7, (; o H—4, 6—4. The players were never fully extended. Paterson was easily the most effective and consistent his service 1 icing practically unreturnable. Anderson lias not reached his top form. Wertheim was the most irregular of tho four, but played his best games since arrival including a number of brilliant half volleys. ■ The team goes to Scarborough a few days before meeting Belgium.
