A (piarrel between a bride and bridegroom in a London register office durinjj; tin- wcok-cml I eel to their departing in wrath by different doors immediately after the ceremony. The bridegroom was 20 minutes late in arriving, and this lapse angered the bridcli who soundly called him to account when Ik» arrived. Still arguing, the < mplo and their friends went into the register office and there found that owing to the delay another couple were being married. The registrar asked them to wait a few minutes until the other couple wore finished. This added delay, and the bridegroom’s excuse that lie had not been called by his landlady in time further annoyed the bride, who was still scolding her fiance when their turn came to he married. When it eatno to putting on tin l ring, the bridegroom had to search each pocket in turn before he remembered that he had put the ring in the finger of his glove for safety. When the registrar asked them to sign the register the bridegroom seized the pen, wrote his signature, and then offered the pen to the bride. He was met by a black look and some uncomplimentary remarks about his manners. “I am not going to sign the register in your presence,” she said to him, ‘‘please meet me outside.” He refused to leave, so hastily adding her signature she went straight to the door that gavo exit to another staircase and left the bridegroom to leave by the main door.
