MAN DROWNED. DARGAVILLE, June 5. Three men, MacDonald, Anderson, mid Charles Fleming left Dargnville on Saturday night on a fishing expedition j„ a launch oil the river. When between Jock’s point and Arntapu, tho latter who was in charge ol the launch got up on the deck to open n ease of benzine and it is surmised lie ovornidnnced and fell in the river. He sang out to his companions that he was alright. They could not. however, see him. and not being able to handle the launch could not search for him. Their cries brought assistance from pnssersby, blit by this time Fleming bad disappeared. Search parties have been out' ever since, but found no trace. Deceased was a taxidriver and il very strong swimmer, but in the ikukness would”not- have much chance ns a strong tide was running. He was married and leaves a wife and three children.
