The principal rebel leader, Morris, and a considerable number of his followers, escaped under cover of the darkness. One hundred prisoners were captured. The official report states the rising has been completely crushed with the loss to the forces of two killed anil two wounded. A considerable number of the enemy were killed. Two leaders Who are believed to he fugitives are making for Orangfi river. Troops have beer, despatched thither.

A former member of the Danish butter committee, in an interview with the Australian Press Association saul the committee’s only function was to receive from dairy farmers, ro-rperiite associations, and exporters, tlmir ideas of selling prices, with a view to arriving at the value of butter, week by week. There was no compulsion on anyone to ‘buy or sell at a fixed price. Thus British importers could buy either direct from the producers or exporting firms. This was the method before the war, and was resumed after peace, but for three years after peace and during the war there was Government control in respect to the export price and destination.
