The usual weekly meeting was held at 8 p.m. Present.—Messrs F. Mc--oregor (chair), Gillooly, Cutbush, J. J. Breeze. Houston. McMannawnv. Pelham, Stafford, Adamson, Seebeck, and 1 11EFKRF.es FOR SATURDAY. The Referees Association submitted referees for Saturday as follows: Kiwi v. United on Cass Square, at 3 p.m., Mr Wilson. Kokatahi v. Hnri Hari at Kokatahi at 3 p.m. Mr D. Dowell. Kuinara v. Excelsiors at 3 p.tll. at Kumara, Mr Gillooiy. JUNIORS. Kiwis v. Excelsiors at Hokitika. Arahura- v. Kokatahi at Arohura at 3 p.m. Mr Sumner. Rimn v. llari Hari at Rimu at 3 pm. Mr Nancekiveil.
It was reported that several country dubs were not dividing takings with visiting teams. It was resolved that Clubs must conform to the rule that 50 oer cent, of takings he handed to visiting team. The referee (Mr A. Cutbush) reported; bavin" ordered R. Fraser off for having struck a player last Saturday on Cass Square. After hearing the referee and offender it was resolved that Fraser stand down one playing Saturday. A complaint was made hv Mr McMannawav as to the manner the game at Kokatahi v. Uniteds was controlled : that the spectators infringed on the field of plav; there was too much appealing by' players; that blackberries required removal from one corner and that the language was not good. His team were beaten on their merits and would have been under any referee, so he was not complaining on that score. Consideration was adjourned to enable the referee to he present. Mr Houston (President of the Referee’s Association) stated they were out to do their hest for the tenu-S tliev had to take the referees on trust ft was resolved to ask Kokatahi Club to clear the ground, cut lines and keep spectators off the ground, and to request all referees to take strong action to prevent L he use of had language.
