The Ghost Hand.
AN INEFFACEABLE I'M PRINTSYDNEY, May .1. HiUgroye, a small country town in New South Wales, has recently come under public notice because of a pheiiomeuoil which has been discovered there. For over twenty years the imprint of a woman’s hand, wrist, and arm, perfect in fill details, hqs existed op t(|p liqpfc window of premises known US thq Sydney HfitPli which will in three weeks ’tjige be pulled down and removed to Apmidjde.
The phenomenon was Unown to few, but since tiio building \yips vacated the news has spread, and t! ie scene has been visited by people froth all parts, who agree that they have never seen a more remarkable spectacle. The mysterious hand, furthermore, with its ges-
ture of appeal, ssems to possess some magnetic fascination for all who gaze upon it—a curious feature. The most S(C ptieal can test for themselves. There is no question that the original imprint was made by a human being, and by a woman, who possessed a most shapely hand. Every line of the fingers, palm, and wrist is clearly shown, and an effort to remove a single line seems only to qiake it more indelible. A close examination-reveals that the imprint is not in the glass, but on it naturally. There lias beep much conjecture. as to the origin, A close enquiry shows that some twenty years ago a young married woman was found dead in the room, from an unusual cause. It is believed the imprint was made by Her hand when endeavouring to attract attention, and that it appeared only after the body was found. What is the explanation l- What caused the ineffaceable imprint? The loom has long been known as a ghost haunt, hut some material explanation may lie possible from scientists.
