COMPENSATION GRANTED. AUCKLAND, May 11. The Arbitration Court awarded Lena Rooke £225 in respect of a claim to recover from G. T. Nieeoll and others compensation for the loss of her son, a seaman on board the Lyman D. Foster in 1919. The Court was of opinion that the son was the source of considerable support to the mother.

A STOLEN YACHT. AUCKLAND, Alay 10.

An auxiliary yacht, answering to the description of the Rants, which is reported to have been stolen from the anchorage in the harbour last Wednesday night, was seen by the schooner AVciruna. at mid-day on Monday, 286 miles from Auckland, heading for the Kermadics. Three men could he seen on the cockpit. When stolen, the yacht had two months provisions oil hoard, ns the owner was intending taking her for a prolonged stay at the Great Barrier.

The owner. Air William Standish. recently bought the vaelit. and had her refitted. She is now worth £BOO. CHILD KILLED. NAPIER, .May 12.

A three year old girl, Norma Breedon, was killed in a brick yard yesterday. A fall of a stack of bricks occurred late itt the afternoon. The child was subsequently missed and the removal of the fallen stack revealed the child, who had been suffocated.
