Monday night’s picture programme in the Princess Theatre is a comedy one, consisting of a comedy drama, presenting Constance Talmadge in The f’irst National picture “ Lessons in Love,” an adaptation of the famous comedy, “ The Man from Toronto,” which proved such a success when played in New Zealand by J. C. Williamson’s company, and the roaring farcical “ Snooky ” play “ The Best Pet.” “Lessons in Love” displays all the newest and snappiest tricks in love and the part of the Venus de Smilo, the whimsical, and flirtatious heroine of the story is suited to Miss Talmadge’s unusual talents, ami her interpretation of it is truly delightful. Kenneth Harlan again distinguishes himself as her leading man. There is a strong sup- r porting east in the feature. McLEAN’S PICTURES. to-night! To-night i Mr McLean presents a fine programme to-night. What kind of wife should a man choose—the pretty littio j vase flower who holds up her charming head and inspires her hushalul with sweet glances and little vanities, or the practical, brainy girl who digs in and helps her husband to fight his battles and to overcome bis obstacles? Sir James M. Barrie makes it quite plain which kind of love is the most enduring in “What Every Woman Knows,” the new William do Mille Paramount picture which will be shown. The story is laid in England and Scotland, and shows bow a young politician wins fame and success, unconscious of the fact that his brilliant littio wife, who types his speeches, is injecting thei;ejn, the real secret of his popularity. At the height ; of his career, he falls in love with another woman, but the wise wife also proves equal to this emergency. The cast is all-star, including Lois Wilson, Conrad Nagel and others of note. A comedy and chapters of the serial “King of the Circus” complete a fine programme.
