After discussion it was resolved that the explanation be accepted and that the match he played at the end of the first round. , A letter was read from the Most Coast Rugby Union advising that a seven aside tournament would he he hi ilt (irovmouth on'.June 3rd .and inv.t, in<r entries. —Received. X.Z. RUGBY UNION. WELLINGTON, May 11. The Neu Zealand Rugby Union had reinstated Douglas, an Otago player .who was suspended in 1915. June 21th was set apart for Charity Day matches. Two selectors, one from each Island, were appointed a Selection Committee for the New Zealand team to lour New South Wales. Tlie North v. South Island match will he played at Wellington, and Auckland will he given a match against the New Zealand team before sailing. Humphries (Taranaki), Nicholson (Auckland), and Griffiths (Wellington) were appointed selectors of tlie North, and Drake (Canterbury) ‘ and Stuart (Otago) for the south, with another to he nominated by minor Unions. It was resolved to ask Auckland for an assurance that they will play only the rules and modifications authorised by tlie English Union. Ail application from the Otago Union for a loan of £1,500 was deferred for further particulars.
