Farmers’ Dairy Assn.

MEETING AT REEFTON. A largely attended meeting of West Coast Farmers’ Co-operative Dairy Association was held in the Council Chambers, Rocfton, on Saturday, Gtli Alny. This Association is becoming stronger and more popular with the farmers every day, and is clearly evidenced by the amount of enthusiasm displayed at their meetings. The following is a, brief report of proceedings of their meeting held on th t . above date. Air J. AfcElwee occupied the chair. The general committee'Submitted their, report to date, which was received.

Tile election of a Provisional Board of Directors was proceeded with, and resulted in the following nominations being-received:—Messrs D. Burt. T. R. "Watson, W. Valla nee, A. AY. Bell. J. B. Stevenson, J. Wisbv, J. ATcElwce, T. IT. Harris.

"It was unanimously resolved that the number of directors constituting tho Board he seven, and to represent iGreymouth, two; Otirn, Inangahua -Valley, including Marina, five. Upon tho ballot being taken the following wero duly declared elected:—AV. A ;d----lanco, Rotomanu; D. Burt, Ngaherc; J. B. Stevenson, Inangahua Landing: A. AV. Bell, Inangahua Junction; and T. B. Watson, Crushington. A meeting is to bo called for Grey mouth this Saturday to elect two directors to complete the Board. The directors as elected above will attend the Greymouth meeting.

It was unanimously resolved that this Board bo fully empowered to immediately proceed to call up the capital as stated on the circular submitted by canvassers.

Air J. ATcKnight attended the meeting from the Mamin, district and explained the position of farmers in that locality. AL- T. R. Watson was appointed delegate to visit Maruia and ascertain the number of cows available for next season, and to enquire fully into the matter of transportation of their cream.

The Secretary was instructed to write to Air J. Noble, editor of the “ Inangahua. Times,” and convey their regret that the press was excluded from their meeting.

A hearty vote of thanks to the chair brought the' meeting to a. close.
