SUB-UNION COMPETITIONS. The opening games of the Sub-Union senior and junior competitions took place on Saturday, and resulted as follows : SENIOR. United, 6; defeated Kumara, 3. Excelsiors, 11 ; defeated Kokatahi 3. Uari Hari, 6; defeated Kiwis, 0. JUNIOR. Excelsior, 9; defeated Arahura 3. Kokatahi and Rimu did not play. Kiwi v. Hari Hari postponed. UNITED V. KUMARA. ! This game was played on Cass Sepiaro before a small attendance of spectators. The ground was in capital order. The game started lato owing to a mishap to ono of the cars conveying, the visitors. The play was a regular first of the season game, none of the players showing any form. United’s score comprised a nice penalty goal liy McMaiiawav, and a try by Gifford, G points to a try by Secbcck for Kumara, 3 points. Mr Cutbush was referee. EXCELSIORS V. KOKATAHI- - This game was played at Kokatahi. and resulted ill a win for Excelsiors bill to 3. The game was an interesting one, and gave promise of better work as tlie season progresses. For Excelsiors tries were scored by A. Wognn, Fraser (converted, by N. Wogan) and N. Wogan. For Kokatahi, Do ird scored a, try that was not converted. Mr W. A. Wilson was referee.
