(From All Occasional Correspondent) Tbo annual race meeting took place at Ok urn at Easter and was pronounced a great success. The inclemency of the weather made a postponement nones- • gory. Although the weather was damp itdid not seem to dampen the enthusiasm ‘ shown. Training had been going oh for I some weeks, prior to the meeting an.l keen competition was evident. Tbe 2! vrs. filly Irish Rose, owned by P. Nolan made a splendid display winning both races in which she was entered, in easy style. Being broken in only three weeks previous and carrying (iv ; r 13 slime (as a lighter rider was unavailable) she acquitted herself m a manner worthy of her great sire. She (Imported from the North Island) and is from the thoroughbred Rangihero sired by Sarto.
