A meeting of the Committee of the Westland Racing Club will be held at tlie Club Rooms at 8.30 o’clock tomorrow night, to deal with the Treasurer’s Statement covering the late meeting, and also to fix next season’s racing dates etc.

Those interested in the farmers’ winter school to be held in Hokitika during the mid-week of May should secure enrolment for the lectures without delay. Students may enrol for the week’s lectures for a fee of ten shillings. During the week there will be country excursions to the farming districts of Kokrtahi and Arahura, where practical instruction will lie given in farming—supplementary to tell lecture course. A number of Grey Valley students have indicated already their intention to attend the winter school.

The death of Airs Baddeley of Runanga occurred at her residence yesterday. The deceased lady, who was a native of Lancashire, England, and was only 32 years of age, had not long been a resident of the Dominion.
Very complete arrangements have been made for the ball in the Public Hall, Kokatahi, this (Wednesday) evening in aid oi the funds of the Kokatahi Football Club. A largely attended and enthusiastic meeting was held in the Council Chambers, Reeftoii on Saturday the 22nd instant, to receive the progress report of the AVest Coast Farmers Co-opera-tive Dairy Association. The Committee reported that up to the time of the meeting they had received promised supplies of 2,117 cows, with still a number of districts to be canvassed from which it is anticipated to receive supplies from another 1000 cows. As a result of enquiries received from Barrytown and elsewhere it was decided to hold a meeting in Greymouth at 0 date to bo fixed later which will be duly advertised. Mr I). Burt and the Secretary (Air Geo. Pascoe) were appointed to represent the Association at the meeting. The support promised is of such an encouraging nature that the Committee recommended the erection of a factory with a capacity of not less than that 300 tons per year, but further consideration was suspended pending more definite replies from the various factory owners who have offered their plants for sal© to the above association. Full power was given the Delegates to make nil arrangements necessary for further canvassing., Estimates of the cost of equipping and erecting different size factories were received from Afr S. Clayton, the Government Grader, who is rendering the Association most valuable assistance. Estimates wore also received from Alessrs Wilkins Limited; Messrs Dunn Bros., Ltd, and Alessrs J. B. AlacEwan and Co Ltd. j. 11 is meeting was adjourned to allow the delegates to report from the Greymouth meeting before making more final arrangements.
