The Committee appointed by the Conference of Dairymen recently, have drafted a scheme for submission to dairying organisations of the Commonwealth. It also provides for trading permissable . only to the extent of making up the actual shortage of another State, to be paid at a rate fixed for home consumption. ANZAC DAY SERVICES. SYDNEY, April 24. Though Anzac Day is not officially commemorated till Tuesday, the significance of the occasion was emphasised throughout, the churches yesterday, and at the unveiling of rolls of honour and memorials in the public parks, at which there were large assemblages.

ANZAC DAY. SYDNEY, April 24. There lias been considerable opposition and press correspondence against declaring Anznc Day a public holiday on the ground that the spirit of solemn observance intended would be largely lost sight of and the commemoration would prove futile. One point strongly urged is that through children having a holiday the opportunity will be lost for teachers and public men to address them and explain the meaning of the observance as on previous occasions. The failure of Government to close hotels is adversely criticised. The Licensed Victuallers’ Association however recommended the hotels to close voluntarilv from 10.30 to one o’clock.
