AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. LONDON, April 22 At Rockhampton, the golf provided further surprises. In the second r< und Duncan beat Ray three up and one. In the semi-final Duncan played bi iiliantly and defeated Gadd five up and four by means of a remarkable round in which he holed 1 I boles in 02, and the last five in fonrleeii. Oekcnden heat Jolly two up and one. A largo crowd followed the final, ill j which Oekcnden went to pieces during j the first half, Duncan turning three’ up. Duncan however, failed lamentably on the home journey, his direction being erratic, and his putting the feeblest. The result was that Ockenden squared at the 14th hole, and won three up and one to play. In the annual Alens’ versus Womens’ golf match, which was played in continuous rain at Stoke Doges, the men conceding their opponent a stroke at alternative holes, won seven and the women three matches. Mothered heat Aliss Cecil Leitcli two up; Booley beai Miss Molly Griffiths six up and four; Airs Macßcth boat Monmorrcncy seven and five'; Miss Fowler heat Mollin six and four. Mitchell playing golf at Woodcbte I’ark, with Vardon, Braid and Tvineh. had a score of 72, being six under hogev. CHRISTCHURCH. April 22. Miss Wriglit. of Timaru, won the ladies’ golf cluuiiuioiiship of Canterbury coming up from third place on the first round and heating Mrs Cook, of Dunedin by three points.
