The further reduction in the Bank of England’s “rate” recently announced will undoubtedly do much to assist the Alotherhmd to restore her industry and commerce, the organisation of which has been sadly shaken by the Great War and its economic consequences. In reducing the rate the directors of the Bank of England have probably based their decision more upon the national necessities of the situation than upon any purely profit-mak--sng view of the bulk’s functions.
