When the Union Company’s steamer Wainui, from Picton, was corning up ihe Wellington Harbour on Saturda;-. evening the top of the high-pressure cylinder blew off, but nobody was injured. The Wainui was towed to the wharf. There was some consternation among the forty passengers, but they were assured that nothing had hnphappened that jeoparised the safety of flic ship.
