Sports on Cass Square

- T U ESDA Y’ S (LATHER ING. The Hokitika Athletic and Cycling Club’s initial sports gathering on Cass Square on Easter Tuesday promises to prove a huge success. There has been a fine response of entries to the very liberal programme drawn up, and competition should lie keen and exciting in the various phases of the competitions. Tae whole of the events have filled .well and comprise toot races, cycling events, wood chopping and sawing events dancing and field events. In iacldition to the announced programme there will he a relay race for schoolboys primary and secondary, post entry with trophy prizes. The first event starts at 12.45 p.m. and with a long programme of events to be carried through there should not he a moment devoid of interest for spectators. The Square has been receiving special attention, and the improvements effected will be of decided value while an area has been roped off to enable all to get a good view of the various events.

In t!ie evening at the Supreme Hall A grand ball will wind up the day’s festivities, good music being arranged for.
