POLLARD’S PICTURES.
TO-NIGHT I TONIGHT! I Tonight, at the Princess Theatre RoL lard’s present a double star programme May Albson in “The Marriage of Wiliam Ashe.” A Metro production of surpassing beauty ; in which May AlH:son as a “Scotch Lassie” shows to advantage. Also “A Modern Salome” taken from Oscar Wild’s famous poem “Salome.” The story, narrated in the Sculptor, inspired the dramatic poem by Oscar Wdde—and the opera by Rich, ard Strauss, recollection of the way the famous dance hag been performed by various actors is woven into the plot of the picture through the hallucination suffered by the heroine in which she imagines herself to be the famous Salome of old. Beautiful Hope Hampton as the reincarnation of Salome is perfection itself in this her first production.
On next Monday evening—Easter Monday—a huge programme is to be screened when the spectacular production of “Madonnas and Men” will be presented. A picture that shows the cheering thousands that have crowded tlfe Roman Arena to enjoy the Chariot Paces—tlie Death Eights of the Gladia tors and the sensational dances of the favourite—and then—the cruel ending to the Roman holiday of ancient times a beautiful Christian girl to be thrown to the lions. But a thrilling rescue of the Christian girl takes place and the Roman Em per or is killed by a stroke of late. This is the opening of the story and then the plot comes to the present day and shows the revels of night life in New York and the white light cabarets. The midnight roof shows, gives an idea of New York, best for startling entertainments.
McLEAN’S PICTURES.
GOOD FRIDAY NIGHT. Mr McLean presents on Good Friday night a Royalty Masterpiece of 6000 feet by Jack London, entitled “The Sea Wolf” a stirring tale of the sailor man with some great advantures. International News* a two part Century comedy and further chapters of the serial “King of the Circus” starring Eddie Polo, complete a fine programme. On Saturday, the usual matinee will be held at 2 p.m. when the star picture screens Edith Roberts in “Luring Lips,” and the serial will also be screened.
