AUSTRALIAN AMD N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION CABINET MEETING. SYDNEY, April 11. A special Cabinet meeting was held at Premier Dooley’s bedside at the hospital. It was decided that the Ministry should resign on Thursday.
INDIANS IN FIJI. SYDNEY, April 11
The Indian Commission which has inquired into the conditions of the Hindus in Fiji has returned here.
They declined to make known the re suit of their investigations until they have submitted their report to the Indian Government.
EMIGRATION. SYDNEY, April 11
Speaking at the New Settlers’ League Conference, Mr Hughes said the British Conference bad not yet submitted their immigration proposals, bu be bad no doubt of such financial co-operation as would enable Australia to deal with the question in a manner never attempted before. Fuller promised full co-operation of the State Government with any Federal scheme.
FINAL APPEAL. MELBOURNE, April 11. The man Ross, who was convicted o r the murder of the girl Tritsehke, and whose appeal was dismissed by the Federal High Court, intends trying to lodge an appeal with the Privy Council, in Britain. His counsel, (Mr Brennan), states tha.t if sufficient funds can he raised, a petition will b e made to the Government for a stay of the execution, to enable an appeal to be made to the Privy Council. EARTHQUAKE SHOCK. SYDNEY, April 11. An earthquako was felt at Melbourne. It was- also recorded at Sydney and Hobart.
