HOARD’S STRONG POSITION. WANGANUI, April 7. At the annual meeting of tlie Harbor Hoard to-night, the Chairman (Mr A. G. Bignell) dealing with the operations of the board for last year, announced that the profit for the year just closed was £3231, ami the accumulated credit balance carried forward was £23,856. For many years past there had been a surplus of. revenue. Since the inception of the board it had not found it necessary to strike any rate. The increase in the number of ships trading to the port for the year was 56, representing 19,065 tons, and it is confidently anticipated that in the near future, home liners will be berthed in ; Wanganui Harbour. ,
