THOUGHTS FOR THE TIMES.
Capital And Labour. Mr Samuel Gompers has recently given out a plan for restoring prosperity hv the expenditure of great of capital in construction work of different kinds. Of course it is very desirable that such wrok shall he carried forward as fast as it can be done and capital is available for it. Hgte is seen the necessity for the hafjmied relation between Capital and Labour. Sotnebody must have accumulated the capital with which payment for such; work shall be made; evidently such accumulations are in the publio interest, , and if approximately three-fourths of all the income accruing from capital investments goes directly to labor there docs not seem to be any occasion for ’labor to he alarmed over capital accumulations.—America,p .
