1 PSTKALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCx-ZION COLLINS IN HOT CORNER. LONDON, April 3. Mr Michael Collins had a escape at Castlebar. As mentioned in - an earlier cable, a crowd of 2000, mostly hostile, rushed the platform from Mr Collins spoke. Collins’s drew their revolvers and formed a circle round him. Some shots were fired, a woman being wounded, while others fainted and were trampled on. One of Mr Collins’s supporters was arrested. A band of the I.R.A’s restored peace. Mr Collins later’left by a special train. Prior to the meeting all roads were blocked, the railway torn up, .and the telegraph wires cut. # LONDON, April 3. A sensation occurred at Mr Collins s meeting at Castle Bar when his oppon- - cuts wrecked the railway line in two places to prevent his supporters from reaching tlie town. They barricaded streets, held up automobiles, and cut telegraph lines. Mr Collins eventually reached the platform, and attempted to speak, but a pandemonium broke out, and revolvers were brandished and fired. Finally, the crowd ejected Mr Collins and party, searched them, and dispatched them . hack to Dublin.
