Britain Abandoning Forestky Polioy. The scheme of afforestation by the State should be discontinued. The vote of £270,030 for *1922-23 should be taken to cancel the power to spend the remaining £2,822,000 of the total of £3,500,000 authorised under the Forestry Act, 1919. Aity umspefut balance in ;the fund should be surrendered to the Exchequer after meeting any liabilities accruing in 1922-23 in respect of timber survey. —Geddes Economy Report.
