We regret to record the passing of another old pioneer miner in the person of Mr Thomas Devaney, licensee of the Club Hotel, who passed away at his residence this morning. Ihe deceased was a native of Galway, Ireland, and; came to New Zealand m the early sixties, following the gold rushes to Otago and the "West Const from Charlelrton, and ultimately to Kumara, where lie resided for a «ood many years, ultimately coming to Llokitika some 20 years ago where be lias resided as host of the Club Hotel. Deceased Ins suffered of late from failing health. Tie leaves a widow and fapnilv of four (two sons and two (laughers) all well know in the community, and they will have the deep sympathy of a wide eirce of friends in their loss. Tlie funeral will take place on Wednesday afternoon.
