Mr Boydell (Labour Leader) gave ! notice of an amendment to the Indemnity Bill in favour of the appointment of a Judicial Commission to conduct an inquiry into the extent, if any of the pre arranged organised revolution- , ary plot on the part of the strikers, , the amount of arms and ammunition possessed by them prior to the shoot- ; ing of three strikers at Boksburg; the, accuracy of the Premier’s allegation ; that the crisis was due to the influence . of Bolshevik propaganda, with a view to establishing a Soviet Govornmen ; . the amount of assistance, if any, o tained by strikers from Russia or: elsewhere also whether martial law was necessary and if the authorities used greater "force than was necessary to protect life and property. That pending the report of the Commission, a Bill be introduced suspending litigation arising from acts -.ommltted by the authorities under martial lav. j
