AUBIHAT.IAN AND JI.Z. OABI.F. ABSOCIAI lON SYDNEY, March 27. Further figuies do not materially affect the stale of the poll, but surprises are anticipated when the preferences are allotted. A Coalition success is assured, but the size of the majority is a matter for speculation. The (“Herald” says “it looks as if the Coalition will gain five or more scats from Labour. Mr McGirr lias probably been Labour's most baneful infliiemye. Hiougli lie won his own seat in Sydney, evidences of the ruin lie wrought are strewn all over the country. The Government richly deserved its.fate.” The “Telegraph” says, “Of the electors it is as noticeable in the country as tin* industrial centres and suburbs of Hie Metropolis that the verdict is one against bribery and extravagance and against the most reckless, incompetent •ulministration that lias ever rulfed the State.”
