AMUSEMENTS.

POLLARD’S PICTURES.

H. B. WARNER—TO-NIGHT.

“ The White Dove,” in which H. B. Warner will be seen at the Princess Theatre to-night, sounds the depths of human frailty, and, in most dramatic fashion, proves that even the strongest is weak at times. “ The White Dove ” is a production in which Mr Warner does the' best work of his career. The picture is founded on the novel by William J. Locke, the famous English novelist, who never penned a more powerfl story than this narrative of “ the sins of the father,” which are visited upon the son. The central character, played by Mr Warner, is Sylvester Lanyon, a British physician, who remembers his wife, now dead, as the finest woman who ever lived. A' Topical Budget, 11 All in a Day,” Comedy, and an Outing Chester scenic .will also be shown.

On Thursday what might be described as a filmiscial comedy, is the screen version of the musical comedy that created a furore in the States and in London a season or two hack. Usually the transmission to the screen of a musical show means that most of its attraction is lost, but in the case of “ Oh, Boy!” the contrary is noticeable, as in this case there is a good story which has all the elements of bright and light entertainment. June Caprice and Creighton Hale are seen in the stellar roles, while an important part of the musical comedy star is taken bv Zeena Keefe Girls, young and beautiful, and lots of them, seem to be the keynote of this lavish and entertaining feature. A Gaum on t Gazette and a two reel comedy “Movie Mad” will complete the programme for Thursday.
