arahura fat stock sale. At yesterday’s fixture at the above Yards 259 sheep and lambs and 50 bead of cattle were submitted to public competition wheri the usual buyers were in attendance. Prices for beef maintained last sale rates and varied from 25s to 30s per hundred for ox beef and from 20s to 26s per hundred for cow and heifer beef. Notwithstanding the big yarding of sheep, there was spirited competition for all 'pens offering and they sold well. Lambs however were only moderately competed for.

Messrs W. Jeffries and Co. report the following sales: gheep—On account Mr C. Atkinson, 54 sheep at 21s 9d. On account Mr W. Thompson, 24 fat sheep at 21s, 25 lambs at 18s 6d. On account Mrs Chinn 40 s.m. breeding ewes at 13s 6d. On account Mr J. Anderson, 42 fat wethers at 25s 6d, 24 lambs at 13s. On account Gardiner Bros, 22 lambs at 12s On account Trembath Bros, 29 shorn ewes at 15s.

Cattle.—On account Mr H. Kambnch, 2 steers at £6 15s, 7 at £6 10s, 4 at £5 15s. On account Mr J. G. M«barry, 1 bullock at £ll 17s 6d, 4at £9 15s, 3 at £9 2 S 6d, 3 at £8 7s 6d, 2 steers at £6 15s, 4 at £6 10s, 3 heifers at £5. 2s 6d, 4 at £4 15s. On account Mr W. H. Kambacb, 6 steers at £6 /10s, 1 at £5 15s, 1 heifer at £4. On account J. D. McKay, 1 sucker at £5, 2 at £3 17s 6d, 2 at £2 10s.

M. Houston and Co report—At the above yards yesterday onr entry consisted of 30 head of fat cattle and 74 lambs. The usual buyers were present, the full yarding being cleared at prices on a par with those of recent fixtures. We sold on account Mr T. Ecclesfield 74 shorn lambs at 14s 3d. On account of J. Butler and Co., 2 bullocks at £8 55., 3 at £9 10s., 2 at £7 15s, 2 heifers at £7 2s 6d, 3 at £6, 2 at £7, 3 at £6 7s 6d, 4 at £6 ss, 2 at £7; on account Mr H. Heveldt, 2 bullocks at £9 *2s 6d; 2 at £8 2s 6d, 2 at £8 17s 6d.
