POLLARD’S PICTURES,
H. B. WARNER, WEDNESDAY
“The White Dove,” the RobertsonCole special, in which H. B. Warner' will be seen at the Princess Theatre on Wednesday teaches in a most convincing manner that the older a man giiows the more inclined to excuse the short-comings of humanity, and to look for its good rather than its bads points. Tilts is shown through two leading characters, one of whom is a man of sixty or more, and the other his son of half hi s age. Tile son, played by H. B. Warner, in most dramatic fashion is shocked by the revelation that his late wife was untrue to him. Thereupon his faith in all humanity becomes shaken, and he leaves his home with the fear that his little daughter is not his own,, and that the woman he Is growing to love, probably would turn out to be the same sort as his own wife. A Topical Budget, a two-reel comedy and a beautiful scenic will also be shown. On Thursday “Oh Boy” at the Princess Theatre furnishes real entertainment of the light breezy order, thereby proving the exception to the rule, as usually" the transition from the stag[e to screen of a musical comedy is not productive of the best results. In his case, there is a highly amusing story and ns the production is the work of Albert Capellani, who directed such great screen successes as» the “Red Lantern,” every available scrap of entertainment value receives its hicdi light. The cast is composed of , old favourites led by June Caprice and Creighton Hale, and including Zeena Keefe and Flora Finch. Prohibition plays its part in the plot, and is responsible for a lot of the fun, while a licvy of beautiful chorus girls furnishes ample reason for the picture being an optical treat. The latest Gaumont Graphic and “Movie Mad” (comedy) will also be shown.
