BOWLING.

HOKITIKA V. GREY. On Saturday afternoon, the Hokitika Bowling Club sent a four-rink fleam to tireymouth to play a game for the Ballinger Buckles and Reynolds Badges. The weather had been threatening in the morning, but held up at noon, and was fine wlfen the team left at 1 p.ni. On arrival at Greymouth, the conditions were not promising, a light rain falling, but about 3.31) a start was made. After a quarter of an hour a heavy shower stopped olay for ten minutes and then the game was suined with the green heavy, ;ml light rain falling at intervals for the rest of the afternoon, but nlay was continued, the games being finisned about (5 o’clock, under unfavorable conditions. Tlie play resulted in Hokitika winning with all four rinks, the Ballinger Buckles and Reynolds Badges being stecured by Mr Stevenson’s link. There were the usual congratulatory speeches after the play, while the ladies as usual supplied a very cla’i tv afternoon tea, which tlie players fully appreciated.
