On Monday Pollards are presenting Stewart Edward White’s popular story of the wilds of South Africa entitled “The Leopard Woman.” Stewart Edward White is perhaps the mosl popular author of his kind in the world to-day, and not the least popular of -his much read novels is “The Leotard Woman,’ ’which has been pieturise.l by J. Parker Read junr. In ihe title tole of this feature Louise Olaum is starred with the virile and powerful Mouse Peters playing opposite her. The story is set in the locale of the African Congo with all its wild lavishness of scenery and beauty, its negro characters, its wild animals and its torrid heat. The story tells of a strong man’s light against the wiles of a beautiful and cunning woman, Madame, whom he meets while on a dangerous mission to a far off native tribe in the bean of Africa. An extraordinary romance springs up between tile two, who are bound on the same mission and a great diplomatic tragedy is averted through the woman’s realisation that she loves her enemy. The climax of tho story is powerful and tlirilli ig *o a degree. The latest Patho Ga/.eUo, and a two-reel Yitagraph comedy entitled “Hand to Mouth,” starring Harold Lloyd, will complete a special programme for Monday.
