BRITISH POLITICAL SITUATION. LONDON, March 14. A meeting of two hundred of the Unionist Conservative members of the House of Commons discussed the Coalition. Several “Die-hards” dissented • from the Government’s Lush policy, but the feeling of the meeting proved strongly to be against any action which would have the effect of dividing the Unionist Party. There was no desire evincedj to end the Coalition, or to withdraw support from the Unionist leaders. MELBOURNE MURDER. MELBOURNE, March 15. At the Criminal Appeal Court, the application of Colin Ross for a re-hear-ing has commenced, the chief grounds of the application being that the Judge should liave instructed thto jury that i was possible to return a verdict of manslaughter, and should have uttered a warning as to the dangerous and suspicious nature of some of the evidence.
