HOUSTON AND C 0 ‘ £1,230,000 CLAIM. NEW YORK, Jan. 16 The municipality of Buenos Aires has decided to sue Messrs Baring Brothers and Co., Ltd., in London for a large sum of money stated to be the undelivered portion of a loan contracted by the municipality in January 1914. If is reported that the amount of the claim will be £1,230,150, which probably represents the sum in dispute with interest added. , The bankers contend that the undelivered part of the loan was to have been paid by a German syndicate which after the outbreak of war failed to carry out the arrangement, and they hold that the municipality must collect the remainder of the loan from the German banks. The municipality’s case is that the loan was contracted solely with Raring Brothers, to which firm, it declares, it has since paid the interest regularly gp ftfiWWrt Pf th« ta "
