“A SMALL TOWN IDOL.” TO-NIGHT.'

To-night at the Princess Theatre Pollard’s have pleasure in presenting Macfc Sennett’s greatest comdey drama ol eight reels, “A Small Town Idol” featuring Ben Turpin nd the 500 Mad, Sennett Beauty girls headed by Marie Prevost. Shakespeare’s assertion that “The Play’s tie thing,” seems to have been one of the two guiding principles for Mack Sennett when he produced “A Small Town Idol” his newest super production at the Princess Theatre, The other stellar ligdit upon which he had one eye focussed was, of course, comedy. There is an harmonious blending of story, interest and humour which stamps this production as the comedy king’s supreme creation. “A Small Town Idol” has all the wellknown players in its cast, "'including Ben Tiypin, Phyllis Haver, Marie Prevost, Charlie Murray, and James Finjayson, in the leading roles. ‘Spectacle and thrills add their attractions to “A Small Town Tdol”. The biggest scene that Mack Sennett has devised and one of the largest that has ever been filmed, is flashed on the screen. In this multitude of girls, who conform in every respect to the famous Sennett specifications for beauty and figure, appear in oriental coetumery, Ben Turpin is the “idol” indicated bv the title That is be ultimately proveß himself such, after a series of tremendously comic, not to mention, some serious situations The supporting pictures tonight a.re the latest Pathe Gazettes and a Goldwyn Gray Interest subject. The orchesetra will play the incidental music to-night.
