| TKKUITJ, March 10. 1 A five-roomed dwelling at Awakino Road, was completely destroyed by fire. Jt was owned by the estate of the late G. S. Otwn.v, which is now administered by the Public Trustee. The occupant, Charles Campbell, married, with seven children, had that day been evicted uni dor a distress warrant. The Brigade saved some of the furniture under 1 difficulties. During the progress of the fire, Sergeant Fearnloy overheard Camphell under the influence of liquor, mak- 1 ing violently boastful statements in connection with the outbreak, and promptly arrested him. SUICIDE

j WELLINGTON, March 10 I Elizabeth Gallop, a waitress, aged 28 years, succumbed to poison, evidently self administered. Deceased was at the Central Hotel and had been conversing will) a male friend when she called out that she had taken poison. She was removed to the hospital where she died. Deceased's husband, it is believed, resides in Sydenham, Christchurch.
