THOUGHTS FOR THE TIMES.
The Bonds That Bind. “There are two great bonds that bind men together. The war showed these two immediate factors working together—love of country and love of God. The war showed these two immediate factors working together, and by their aid we conquered. I{ pray that they may work together still, and that the clergy of all denominations of Great Britain will realise that in the maintenance of the bonds that hold our mighty Empire together they have aj common task, and are members of one Imperial Church. Let all the churches their march forward together along this road that all can travel. Then will the example of the men who feel, achieve its purpose, and the sacrifice they made will not have been in vain.”—Lord Haig.
