Commercial Travellers.

BUSINESS AT CONFERENCE'. CHRISTCHURCH, March 7. The ninth annual conference of Commercial Travellers and Warehousemen’s Association of New Zealand, opened today. The Mayor (Dr Thacker, M.l -,) m welcoming the delegates said the commercial travellers of New Zealand had won the goodwill of all the people durum the war. They had helped every good cause and in Christchurch their services were particularly appreciated He would like to see the commercial travellers doing something to secure better travelling accommodation for the general public. The matter of mow comfort on the railways was of vital necessity, and he hoped something would he done to bring alxmt some improvements. Reports presented showed that tu> affiliated Associations were in a flourishing condition. Mr H. H. Wauchop (President) said it was gratifying to hoar from the reports of the affiliated Associations, that their work for elm ity through New Zealand had been well maintained, and he hoped that during next year similar progress would-be made! He thought there was nothing finer than for their Asosciation to do something for public institutions It was decided that no commission he granted to provincial Associations in connection with the Insurance Fund for twelve months
