ARAHURA FAT STOCK SALE.
AN IMPROVED MARKET.
At the above yards yesterday the usual fixture was held when 51 head of fat cattle and 70 sheep were yarded to a full list of buyers and as a result competition was spirited throughout the sale. The quality of the entries was all that could be desired, no big cattle being penned, finished medium weights being the rule. Prices in consequence made a sharp rise and were easily from 25s to 30s in advance of those recorded per head at last sale. A ; choice sucker from Mr Friend’s entry made £7 10s. Sheep were on a par with the last two sales. Messrs W. Jeffries and Co. sold as follows:—On account Mr D. Roberts two bullocks at £8 7s 6d, three at £8 ss, three at £7 15s, two heifers at £6.155. On account a client one light S| steer at £5 2s 6d, two dry cows £5. On account Mr'-Norman Friend two bullocks at £8 10s, three at £8 ss, three at £B, three at £7 10s, on© sucker at £7 10s, three heifers at £7 12s 6d, seven at £7, two at £6 17s 6d, one at £7 2s fid, one at £5 12s 6d. On ac- * count Mrs Chinn 70 fat ewes at 18s 3d.
M. Houston and Co. report:—We held our usual sale at the above yards yesterday, our entry consisting of 13 head of cattle and 51 siheep. Owing to the short market there was good competition, and prices advanced tip to £1 per * head on th© previous sale. We sold on account of Mr C. J. Nightingale 11 sheep at 14s, 40 ewes on account of a • client passed at I7s 6d. On account of Mr J. Olson, 3 light bullocks at £7 10s, 1 heifer and 1 cow at £6 2s 6d, 2 light heifers at £5 2s fid, 2 heifers at £6 2s fid, 2 at £5 ss, 2 at £5.
