LICENSING LAW AMENDMENTS ' ' WELLINGTON. March 5.

There was an Inter-Sessional Committee, consisting of Messrs Hockley, (chairman). Harris. Isitt. Lee, Luke, Lysnar, McCall tun, Savage, Stnthnm, Witty and Wright, and the Prime 'Minister'. set up by the House of Representatives, last session “to consider, in the interests of the public, and generally for its more satisfactory working, what amendments are required in the present f icensing Act.” This committee is to meet, at Parliament Buildings on Thursday , March, I.6th. The Committee was established largely at the instance of Mr R. McCall urn, .U P. for Wnirau, who has introduced Licensing Act Amendment Bills session after session, with a view to improving the conditions under which the Trade is carried on. Mr M«Callum repeatedly urged during the last session the need for an Amending Act in view of the possibility of National No-License not being carried at the poll in connection with .the general elections in DecemHfr next.
