ADJINCTON STORK MARKET*

A LARGE YARDING

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day

Messrs Matson and Co. report as follows regarding their slock sale yesterday:—

The largest yarding of the season and all classes of sheep held their own and sold vlcll till well on in' the afternoon, when the attendance decreased, and the sale got slacker. Best rape lambs 13s ;M to Ijs6d : others from lUs 6d to 12s (id; best wethers from 14s (id. to [6s; others from 125,; best sound mouth ewes los 6d to 18s; others from Vis 6d to 14s. Most oj. the entry was sold at auction.

Store Cattle.—A very small yarding, very mixed lot and no quotable lines offering, but the demand generally was firm.

Hoof.—A considerably larger yarding than last week and the quality generally was indifferent and market taking it all round was easier than the previous sa!,o. Prime light weight sorts showed little alteration. Prime steers Lit) 10s to £l3 10s; one pen of extra special making £l7; medium £8 to £lO os; light and inferior £0 2s 6d to £7 15s;; prime heifers £0 to £ others £1 to £5 10s; prime cows £5 lO s to £9; 'extra to £lO ss; others £3 10s to £8 10s. . .Mutton.—An overflowing yarding oi fat sheep. Although mostly comprising of ewes, there were far more wethers offering than last sale and included some good lines of l\»est Coasters. The market opened up considerably easier, especially for owes and as the sale progressed all classes, become weaker. Ewes were generally 3s to * s down and wethers 2s to 3s. tiiine wethers 21s to 20s 9d ; extra to 29s MM ; medium 18s to 20s fid. Some light, were down to lfis 10d. Prime ewes I ts fid to 18s 3d, extra good up to °3s ■ medium 11s fid to Tls; lightei >»ik inferior down to 9s. Freezing buyers secured a fair proportion of lightei quality. Lambs were practically unchanged, and if anything, slightly easier.
