BERLIN DEMONSTRATION.

BERLIN, Jan 3. The anti-British demonstration made bv some (50 Egyptian students) before tbe British Emhnssby yesterday would not be worthy of mention were it not for the behaviour of the German authorities, According to the Deutsche Allgcmeine Zeitung, the police had been warned that the demonstration would bo made and had stationed some of their men outside the Embassy. “They bad no occasion to interfere,” says tbe Stinnes organ, “a»s the behaviour of the. demonstrators was peaceful.” Whether the behaviour of persons who stand outside the British Embassy and shout “Down with England” is .to he considered peaceful or not is a. question of little importance. Political processions and demonstrations are forbidden, within a. mile radius of the Reichstag, and the police have before now shown no mercy to demonstrators before the palace of President Ebert in She Wilhelmstrasse.
