LATE LOCALS
We regret, to record the death at the age of fifty-three years, of ail old and highly respected resident of Nelson Creek, in the person of Ah- Patrick O’Brien, proprietor of the well-known hotel there. Deceased had been ailing for some years. The late Mr O’Brien was a very popular figure m Nelson Creek district, and his genial disposition and other good .qualities gained him friends in all directions. He reared a family of seven sons and five daughters, who with his widow will have the sincere sympathy of a wide circle of friends in their loss. Mrs M. Bradshaw and Mr Tom O’Brien, of the Caledonian Hotel, grey mouth, are respectively sister and brother of . deceased, while another brother, Sergt.
