arbitration COURT. CHRISTCHURCH, March 1

Replying to Labour reputation today, Hon Air Anderson said that as fur as electing the workers’ representative on the Arbitration Court was concerned, the position would, be dealt witn In a consolidating measure and some things tliilt had occurred in the past in respect to nominating representatives would be avoided. He was not there to discuss tlie Labour position, but he could say that some better form of election would lie introduced.

As to the standard of living, lie could not see that anybody could fix it better than the Arbitration Court could. He certainly would not do it. It was a free country, and the people could live in it as they chose. The standard he set up might not please others, and the standard others set up might not please him. He would go into the request that the Arbitration Court should be allowed to make Dominion Awards. The position of the Conciliation Councils was lieiug considered, but he could not go further into the question just then.
