These were revealed to-day, when white-robed members of the Klan suddenly appeared at the funeral of Doctor I/>cke and placed a floral offering consisting of a white cross, inscribed: “Knights of the Ku Klux Klan.”

The Chief Justice is dealing with a unique case. Sarah Bondix is suing Carl Bendix, stockbroker of London for breach of promise to remarry her. Bendix divorced his wife in 1920 on the grounds of misconduct with a chaffeur. Counsel stated Bemlix afterwards rccourtcd her, proposed marriage and lived with her. He told her she would get a surprise on her birthday. He telephoned her on that day, rentalking: —“This is my surprise. Will you marry me?” She consented and the wedding was arranged, but postponed, and six days later Bendix married an actress. Mistress Bendix deposed that after the divorce her husband settled £llOO yearly on ber.

Colonel Amery, in the House of Commons said that the condition of Nelson’s flagship “Victory” was being considered. It was not likely however that she would ever be maintained afloat again.
