FARMERS AND LABOUR.
SUGGESTED CONFERENCE. CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 22. The Farmers’ Union carried the following resolution: “That the time is ripe for a conference with representatives of Labour and that the local Lahour leaders he invited to confer with this executive concerning questions of mutual interest, such as employment, immigration, the establishment of local co-operative industries and of a cooperative bank. The mover said there could at least lie no harm in approaching Labour. He did not hope for much to come out of a conference at once, hut it would be beneficial for the Union to know what Labour’s attitude was going to be, and vice versa.
