UiAHUItA CAT STOCK SALE
The entries for the above fixture which was Held yesterday consisted of 82 lambs 12 fat ewes and 40 hoggets together with 40 head of fat cattle. Th e usual attendance of buyers was present and competition compared favourably with previous sales, notwithstanding that several pens were withdrawn not meeting with the owner’s ideas of values. There was keen competition lor the lambs of Mr Purcell’s which were yarded in prime condition, having been brought through by motor lorry from Matainui specially for the sale and the prices recorded certainly justify this means of transit as it was admitted the lambs were the best yarded at Ara-
luira this year. Messrs W. Jeffries and Co. report the following sales:—On account of Mr E. Cron, 12 fat ewes at 17 s, 22 light iambs at 15, 14 hoggets at l?s; on account oi Mr M.
