Shackleton’s Funeral.

THE FUNERAL CEREMONY. AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION. LONDON, Feb. 15. Monte Video reports that after the state ceremony, the body of Sir E. Shackleton was conveyed to the whaler Wodviell, ex-servicemen acting as pallbearers. The British,Charge d’Affaires and English officials, and a number of people from Buenos Aires, followed the remains. The cortege was escorted by a Guard of Honour of Uruguayan Lancers, and the streets were lined with soldiers carrying old flags used in the war of independence.

'Phe funeral service was read in the English Church, The coffin, which was covered with the Union Jack, was a rough wooden oiie, inscribed ‘‘Ernest Henry Shackleton ; died 5—1—22.” There were wreaths from his wife and family, the Uruguayan Government, and front Shackleton’s mother.
