BALLINGER BUCKLES. * On the Greyniouth Bowling Club’s green yesterday morning, the Westport Club played the Greyniouth Club for the Ballingtr Buckles. The following were the results (Grey players mentioned first in each case): — G. Wilson, Brebner, Steer, Blackwood (s) 15, lost to McLeod, Rose ,Cameron, Blaxall (s) 23. G. Moss, F. White, D. McKay, T. Jones (s) 13, lost to Ahern, Evans, Tulloch, Harrison (s) 14. Scott, Reynolds Buck, Blair (s) 26, heat Clery, Cray, Ryan, Williams s) 17. Totals, Grey 54, Westport 54. The game was most interesting throughout. Jones’s rink was the last to play. On the last bowl to be played by Jones, Westport was lying two. Jones drew the second shot, leaving Westport
one up. Mr Blair’s rink, the holders of the buckles, were the highest scorers, thus leaving them the holders. According to the conditions, the challengers have to win the Buckles with the highest reore, and as the there was a tie it left Blab’s rink still the holder?.
