Thoughts For The Times

Culling Will Save The Dairyman. Many have bought land at inflated values. The high price of butter fat in recent years has made many dairymen careless, and scrub herds, a dis-gra-ce to the countryside, are to be seen in every province. New Zealand is in a 'position to compete with any of her rivals by virtue of her wonderful natural resources —provided she seizes opportunity with both hands as it conies; but the time when dairymen could afford to be careless is past. The poor farmed may be in datager of goijig to the wall, but it will not be the! dairyman who tests and culls his herd who fails.
